With all of the scary news flying around about COVID19, we thought we’d take a little time from our day to let you know how Team Trillion is adapting. On Monday, March 16, we transitioned our team to be 100% remote. First, we want to acknowledge how lucky we are that our work can easily be done from anywhere in the world with electricity and an internet connection.
We packed up our 27″ iMacs and set up a dedicated work space in each of our homes. Please enjoy this “group” picture of what our office looks like now.
We’re happy to report that we all have the same capacity and ability to do our jobs as we would normally (minus standing over the shoulder and pointing at designs). However, we’re leveraging many online tools that help us stay connected during this unpredictable time. Here’s a list of some of our favorite business tools that are helping us with the transition:
- Google Hangouts: We’ve been using Google Hangouts for years but now we’re using it every morning for a daily check-in. We’re having a group-call style meeting so we’re hearing each other’s voices, seeing each other’s screens, and keeping each other updated on what we’re working on.
- Hive: Our project management tool of choice is our hub for seeing what everyone is working on and what projects are in everyone’s queues. It also has a Slack-like chat feature for quick messages between team members.
- InVision: This is our favorite tool for sharing web projects. Now we find ourselves sharing a link with clients and getting on a Google Hangout so we can share our screen to present our work.
To make our remote transition easier, we’re trying to change as little as possible for what makes our team thrive. Our work is best when we collaborate and share ideas with each other. We’re still able to foster this creative environment with phone calls, Google Hangouts, and sending each other pictures of sketches and design ideas.
