We would like to introduce you to Lara Lipski, a wonderful addition to our talented team. We hope you enjoy getting to know Lara as she answers a few Trillion questions.
What led you to Trillion?
I had been working in marketing at not-for-profits for over 10 years, and I was looking forward to getting back to my roots. I wanted to return to the camaraderie I felt by being on a creative team at an agency, and Trillion is a great place for that.
Has anything changed in the marketing business since the pandemic?
Everything is different. Clients are working harder for organic traction because with the implementation of new privacy policies at Google and Apple, clients are understanding that “buying audiences” just can’t be done. It’s a lot about building your brand organically, doing proper outreach, and contacting your audiences regularly—not just when you have something to sell. Of course, since the pandemic, hybrid conventions are now commonplace too, which means more marketing is focused on enhancing an organization’s virtual presence, while also creating campaigns that contribute to growing onsite excitement.
What do people misunderstand about marketing?
That marketing is a quick fix. People might think, “I ran ads; I should be getting 20 thousand leads.” It’s important to understand there is a buildup, a laying of the foundation. Focus on the big picture and create a mixture of organic content and ads so that you build your growth. It’s a process.
What are you binging right now?
House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones. And we are finishing season one of White Lotus.
How do you relax during your time off?
When my kids are home from college, hanging out with them is my number one choice. We are outdoorsy people, so hopefully, we are hitting the trails, kayaking, or mountain biking. That is—if the temperature is over 50 degrees. I don’t like it too cold.
Hmmm, so your favorite season is …
Spring! I love the rebirth, the flowers, and the feeling of a fresh start. I grew up on the water, so the first hint of warm weather to me is a precursor to the start of a beautiful boating season.
When I’m on my phone too much, it’s probably because I’m ….
Making playlists on Spotify! I am a huge U2 fan, and I love Depeche Mode and all that 80s alternative rock. I also love music such as Motown, Steely Dan, and the whole Hip Hop era (being a teen in the 1990s). So, my playlists are wildly eclectic, for sure.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Getting to work with a wide variety of clients and industries. All our clients are so great and easy to work with and bring their own creativity to the table. It’s very fulfilling to see them try things they’ve never done before, like running ads or starting a blog. It’s fun to work with them from the inception of an idea to the successful completion of it—and witness all the new growth and opportunity.
