Trillion was recognized with a total of four Gold Awards in the 21st Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA). The awards were created in 2003 to celebrate the achievements of marketing and advertising in the community service and not-for-profit sectors. More than 1,000 entries were received in this year’s competition.
A national panel of judges evaluated entries in eight groups and forty-five categories, reviewing them for execution, creativity, quality, consumer appeal and overall breakthrough advertising content. Trillion was recognized for their work in Direct Mail, Mobile Media Content and Total Digital Marketing Program categories.
Sierra Repertory Theatre Elvis: The Musical Campaign – Mobile Media Content
Elvis: The Musical sold almost 50% of available tickets before the show opened, and subsequently sold out completely with more than two weeks remaining in the run, a first for the theatre.
Sierra Repertory Theatre is an award-winning professional arts organization in California serving 45,000 patrons each year. They reached out to Trillion to help increase ticket sales and strengthen awareness of their theatre among those vacationing or traveling to the area. Trillion developed a digital campaign for each of their eight mainstage shows, including planning, designing, writing, placing, and optimizing the ads across mobile platforms.
For Elvis: The Musical, we created digital ads based on the show’s key art and ran those for four weeks leading up to the show’s opening. We replaced that art with production photos and video content once the show opened. We tracked all ad metrics, making adjustments to maximize effectiveness.

Ukrainian Catholic University Foundation Giving Tuesday Marketing Campaign – Total Digital Marketing Program
Ukrainian Catholic University Foundation (UCU Foundation), based in Chicago, supports Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv, Ukraine. For UCU Foundation’s Giving Tuesday campaign, they chose to highlight the Emmaus Center at Ukrainian Catholic University, a place of unique support for people with developmental disabilities and their families, where they share their lives with students and are welcomed into a full life. The campaign focused on raising awareness of the Emmaus Center’s program and highlighted how they provided critical support and evacuation services to the disabled of Ukraine during the first months of the Russian invasion.
“The Emmaus Center is such a moving and uplifting story,” says Larissa Montecuollo, Co-Founder of Trillion. “We were able to connect with donors across many channels. We created a series of emails, Facebook and Instagram posts, a Facebook fundraiser, and a dedicated landing page on their website. It was a very successful and rewarding campaign.”
The campaign surpassed its projected goal and raised more money than the prior year.
Newark Academy Day of Giving Fundraising Campaign – Direct Mail
For Newark Academy, one of the nation’s oldest private schools, Trillion crafted the messaging and content for their pivotal Day of Giving campaign, a festive school-wide event that targets participation from alumni and parents.
The campaign resulted in a 50.7% increase in alumni donors, and the average gift increased significantly from $185.31 to $427.86.
We centered the design and the copy around the theme of love, partly because their Giving Day coincides with Valentine’s Day, and partly to recognize the affection the students, alumni and families feel for the school. The mailer was timed to create anticipation leading up to the actual Day of Giving, and we kept the look and feel fun and celebratory. In combination with email blasts and social media posts, our physical mailer resulted in a 50.7% increase in alumni donors, and their average gift increased significantly from $185.31 to $427.86.
Razom End-of-Year Appeal – Direct Mail
Razom is a U.S.-based not-for-profit organization that supports Ukraine. Razom, which means “together” in Ukrainian, believes deeply in the enormous potential of worldwide volunteers united by a single goal: to unlock the potential of Ukraine.
Razom had been running humanitarian relief efforts throughout the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia and needed assistance to quickly create an urgent year-end appeal. Trillion stepped in and, in what may have been our fastest turn-around ever, wrote and designed an effective end-of-year appeal in under a week. The appeal included a letter with a tear-off response card, remittance envelope, and outer envelope.
Since the scale of Razom’s aid was massive, the challenge for design and copy was to distill the information so that it could powerfully connect with readers. Choosing what to emphasize became the primary focus of design, and including images created a tangible connection so readers understood where their donations would go.
Razom reported over $100,000 in donations in December alone from the end-of-year appeal.
