The Challenge: Giving a Strategic Plan a Visual Form

A newly completed strategic plan only builds momentum if constituents, faculty, and students actually engage with it. The challenge was to translate dense planning content into documents people would pick up and read, and to pair that plan with an annual report that carried the same story and visual direction.

SUNY College of Optometry came to Trillion after completing a strategic planning exercise, looking to visualize its new direction through the design of both the plan and a complementary university annual report.

The Solution: Bold, Portable Document Design

Trillion designed the strategic plan and a complementary annual report that both use big, bold type, color, and large photography to tell the school’s story. Trillion reduced the dimensions of each document to ease portability and used a spot UV coating on the cover to accentuate the typography.
