PROJECT OVERVIEW

Newark Downtown District (NDD) is a Special Improvement District serving Downtown Newark with a variety of services. As an organization dedicated to supporting and improving New Jersey’s largest city, its website needed to reflect the sense of excitement and possibility that Downtown Newark possesses and showcase the range of programs, events, and activities available to the public and businesses in the district. As a vast resource for those visiting, working in, or living in downtown Newark, the site needed its content to be presented in an organized, engaging, and user-friendly manner.

Trillion designed the site with an architecture that put current offerings, like seasonal or annual events, at the forefront and supported the marketing efforts around them. We updated imagery, including video, and presented their content in a way that reflects the vibrancy, variety, and creativity that Newark Downtown District provides.

One of the unique features of the custom WordPress website build is a community calendar that allows anyone to submit events the downtown community would appreciate—with an admin review feature to ensure relevance for their audience. Another feature that keeps the downtown united is the newly updated Downtown Directory, which showcases all of the amazing businesses within the special improvement district. You can filter by various categories and see the available businesses on a map.
