Every year, Trillion likes to give back in some way to help our local communities. We know the importance of community involvement and love to help not-for-profits whenever we can. This year, we donated our time at America’s Grow-a-Row, a Pittstown, NJ-based not-for-profit that provides fresh, healthy produce to food pantries across New Jersey.
Our day began with a thunderstorm-filled commute to Hunterdon County, NJ. We were worried, but the skies cleared to become a beautiful morning to spend out in the fields! Due to earlier rain, we were given the responsibility of thinning peach trees, instead of a muddy gardening task.
While thinning peach trees may seem like low-hanging fruit (literally), in the grand scheme of all that needs to be done to harvest them, it is an extremely important and necessary job. Fruit trees typically attempt to grow more fruit than they can support causing energy shortage and broken branches. With five other companies participating, we scattered ourselves among a row of trees and got to work! Leaving around 3 inches between each peach, we helped thin the surrounding young fruit on 46 trees so they could thrive.

that will yield about 9,200 pounds of fruit or 36,800 servings!
We’ve seen the value in giving back while working with organizations like Birch Family Services, the YMCA, and Friendship Circle. As a creative agency with many not-for-profit clientele, our studio’s goal is to give back locally and globally each year. In the past, Trillion has sorted donated baby clothes, helped set up a farmers’ market style food bank, helped prepare pre-packaged meals from raw ingredients, and participated in a town-wide Earth Day clean up.

About America’s Grow-a-Row
America’s Grow-a-Row is a nonprofit program that began with a father-daughter duo and a 120-pound produce donation. Since that first contribution over 15 years ago, the organization has expanded to four farms and has donated over 7.7 million pounds of produce to those in need through the active participation of more than 9,100 volunteers annually.
