PROJECT OVERVIEW

Newark Downtown District, located in the heart of Newark, NJ, is dedicated to revitalizing downtown Newark by improving the economic viability of the central business district. Each year, the organization develops an annual report that is presented at their annual stakeholders dinner.

The focus of this year’s annual report design was Newark Downtown District’s 20th Anniversary. The emphasis is not just on the 20 years they’ve served Newark, but what this milestone signifies for the future of their city. Newark Downtown District hosted a series of community events throughout the year to celebrate their 20th anniversary and we dedicated full spreads to those celebrations. This was also Newark Downtown District’s first annual report since Trillion rolled out their vibrant, revitalized identity. This magazine highlights Newark Downtown District’s distinctive yellow and large, bold lettering that give their brand such personality. Big speech bubble callouts and fresh icons were other elements from the rebrand that were incorporated to display information and data in a pleasing way.
