Designing Catering Menus to Improve Event Planning and Food Sales

The challenge was creating catering menus that made it easy for event planners and families to review options across multiple venues while encouraging increased food and beverage sales. The menus needed to be visually engaging, easy to scan, and accessible to a wide range of patrons with varying dietary needs.

The Essex County Parks System in New Jersey manages several event-ready venues throughout the county. Working in partnership with Aramark, Trillion designed catering menus that combined clear layout, engaging photography, and branded typography to simplify the selection process.

Menu Design Supporting Accessibility and Revenue Growth

The menu design balanced clarity and visual appeal, allowing users to compare offerings quickly while reinforcing the quality and variety available at each venue. A system of simple icons was incorporated to highlight ingredients and help guests quickly identify options that accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions.

The improved menus helped Essex County Parks and Aramark present their catering options more effectively, supporting increased food and beverage sales across event venues.
