An Appeal Mailing Built to Stand Out

Cooke School and Institute wanted its appeal mailing to stand out in a big way, in a format unlike anything the school had sent before. The piece needed to educate recipients on what a donation could do for students, convey the school’s approach to education, and make giving simple.

Cooke School and Institute is a private school in New York City that educates students with diverse developmental disabilities and backgrounds, from early childhood through young adulthood.

An Oversized Trifold Self-Mailer

Trillion designed an oversized trifold self-mailer with a personalized reply card and envelope to make donating convenient. Building on a school-year calendar Trillion had recently designed, the piece carried a unified look with dynamic circular layouts, large photos of smiling students, and the Cooke green and blue palette. A bouncy script typeface paired with the clean sans serif Montserrat gave the mailer an energetic, life-affirming feel. Two QR codes were included, one linking to a video about the school and one enabling easy donations by phone.
